Best Fall Games 2009

As more blockbuster releases occur during the next three months, the fall season is video game heaven.

Need For Speed: Shift for Xbox 360, Playstation3, PC, PSP. A venerable racing series shifts into a whole new gear. Trading arcade hi-jinks for realistic simulation, NFS: Shift heads in a different direction with accurate, physics-based driving, full customization and intense new graphics.

Halo 3: ODST for Xbox 360 Released on Sept 22, this much anticipated first-person shooter lets fans explore an entirely new side of the Halo tale as a rookie member of an elite ODST fighter squad. Finish the fight -- again.

Avenue Flo PC Game. There are few casual game names bigger than Diner Dash, and for good reason -- these games routinely set the bar for casual game quality. Avenue Flo hopes to break the mold by letting fans of the franchise explore DinerTown in a totally new way, including giving Flo an actual voice. After playing through her frantic time-management games, we expect she'll sound exhausted.

Wii Fit Plus available on October 4, 2009. The first Wii Fit proved that gamers weren't content being labeled overweight and lethargic, and with all those holiday shindigs coming up, Wii Fit Plus couldn’t come at a better time. New additions like a calorie-burning counter and fully customizable workout regimens will help your waistline, too.

NBA Doubleheader for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PC , PSP, PlayStation 2. Release Date: October 6. It's safe to say that NBA 2K10 is the blue chip prospect. Plus, 2K has already managed to stand out by releasing the innovative NBA 2K10: Draft Combine, a free download that lets gamers create a custom player, take him through the pre-season NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, and eventually use him in the full retail game. Now that's playing with your head.
